My Mother | Daiichi Seimei Hall (Premiere)わたしのお母さん|第一生命ホール(初演)
The premiere of My Mother. Kazuo Ohno solo butoh performance for the first time since his return from his debut tour in Europe in 1980. Tatsumi Hijikata directed as in Admiring La Argentina.
According to its invitation letter, Kazuo realized how his life and his mother are united into one as he went through an album of La Argentina's photos which was a gift from her relatives.
Kazuo performed My Mother for 3 days, during which it is said that the scene structure was altered. Only video recording that exists is of the 3rd day from which we know there was an intermission after Dream Of Love, and after the intermission Kazuo danced Tangos and Etudes by Chopin. My Mother in July of the same year performed in New York had no tangos as far as we know.
The programme contains Kazuo's essays on his sister who was hit by a train and died in 1914 ("Flower Train") and his mother's last words ("Last Words") .
