Yoshito Ohno’s solo performance, presented as part of the 2nd Kazuo Ohno Festival in 2005. Before the performance began, Yuji Nara gave a musical performance in the lobby, where photographic panels were displayed. During the curtain call, Yoshito Ohno appeared pushing Kazuo Ohno in his wheelchair, surrounded by thunderous applause. After the performance, father and son continued to greet and interact with audience members in the lobby alongside Yuji Nara’s music.

July 15, 1938 was the birth date of Yoshito Ohno. In 1959, he made his debut in Kazuo Ohno’s modern dance performance “The Old Man and the Sea”, and also appeared in Tatsumi Hijikata’s “Forbidden Colours”, later regarded as the first work of Butoh. November 15, 1969 was the date of Yoshito Ohno’s first solo performance. In 1999, thirty years later, he presented his second solo work.

Although “Single Mind” was performed only once, “isshin” remained one of the central words guiding Yoshito Ohno throughout his life.
