Dove鳩
A solo piece by Kazuo Ohno performed at Kazuo Ohno Modern Dance Recital in April 1959. It was presented as part of a set titled 'Short Pieces by Belafonte and Salvador,' together with 'O, Kind God' and 'A Shoe.' The programme includes the line: “The dove of the South does not even take flight, enduring its pain.”
A recording tape believed to have been used for the performance (a 6 mm open-reel tape), along with surviving staging notes, indicates that Harry Belafonte’s “Cucurrucucú Paloma” was used.
According to a stage review in Gendai Buyō (May 1959), the costume consisted of “a bright red sweater, a white gown, and a white headpiece.”
