The Fox and a Stone Figure狐と石像

The Fox and a Stone Figure

A group piece presented at the Kazuo Ohno's Modern Dance Group Recital held in November 1951. The piece centers on a stone statue caught up in a murder case, unfolding a narrative in which a woman who dances a duet with the murderer transforms into a fox. A document (PNT62 in this archive) presumed to have been distributed at the time, titled “Explanatory Notes,” records the detailed progression of the piece along with the inner thoughts of the statue.
