Statue of the Ernst Familyエルンスト家の塑像
A group piece presented during Part Three of the First Kazuo Ohno Modern Dance Recital, which took place on 27 November 1949. Kazuo Ohno danced as an owl, taking inspiration from the sculptures dotted around the garden of sculptor and painter Max Ernst, which was described in the programme as 'brought to life by the character of its owner with dynamic consistency and liveliness'. We can also from the programme that three studies inspired by the sculptures were also created by Ohno's students from the Kazuo Ohno Dance Studio. Concept and choreography by Kazuo Ohno, composition by Shinji Kobayashi.
