Good Morning Praying Mantisグドモーニングかまきり
Presented during Part Two of the First Kazuo Ohno Modern Dance Recital, which took place on 27 November 1949.
In the programme is written: 'Watching the dealings between haughty rich gentlemen and a woman lavishing her feminine wiles, a praying mantis is reminded of the predestined death of a male mantis as it is eaten by the female'.
Cast
Praying Mantis: Kazuo Ohno
Gentlemen: Shinji Kobayashi, Funi Oshima,
Woman: Michie Kajigaya
The praying mantis seems to have appealed strongly to Kazuo Ohno, and also appears in films he created in the 1960s.
