Jacob’s Song of Praiseヤコブの讃歌
Solo piece by Kazuo Ohno presented during Part One of the First Kazuo Ohno Modern Dance Recital, which took place on 27 November 1949.
The programme reads: 'His cheeks wet with remorse, the pilgrim dreamed of angels going up and down a stairway to heaven and heard the voice of God, then early next morning took his stone pillow, set it up as a pillar and poured ointment on it, and called it the sacred place of Bethel'.
Critic Tatsuo Nagata praised the work as 'unique' in the Shinyukan newspaper.
