O, Kind God親切な神様
A solo piece by Kazuo Ohno performed at Kazuo Ohno Modern Dance Recital in April 1959. It was presented as part of a set titled 'Short Pieces by Belafonte and Salvador,' together with 'Dove' and 'A Shoe.' The programme includes the line: “A man lingers on the desolate pavement of Parish P. Hallelujah.”
A recording tape believed to have been used for the performance (a 6 mm open-reel tape) indicates that the music included Harry Belafonte’s “Mary’s Boy Child.”
A documentary DVD released in 2003—filmed in 2001 by Gianni Di Capua and following Ohno after he had become unable to walk—takes its title from this piece.
