Naoya Ikegami池上直哉

A photographer. Since photographing the premiere performance of Kazuo Ohno’s landmark work "Admiring La Argentina" in 1977, he continued to document numerous performances by Kazuo Ohno and Yoshito Ohno through their later years. His many striking photographs have appeared in newspapers and magazines around the world; among the most renowned is the album cover for "The Crying Light", dedicated to Kazuo Ohno by the musician Antony (later known as ANOHNI), a longtime admirer of Ohno.

In 2000, he organized simultaneous exhibitions of Kazuo Ohno photographs in Yokohama and Paris. In 2006, the year Kazuo Ohno turned one hundred, he conceived and produced the Kazuo Ohno Centennial Photo Exhibition, "The Hidden Body", as part of the celebrations marking Ohno’s 100th birthday. Held at Konica Minolta Plaza, the exhibition attracted a total of 16,000 visitors and subsequently toured Fukushima, Yokohama, Shanghai, Düsseldorf, and Wuppertal.

He is a member of the Japan Stage Photographers Society (JSPS) and the Japan Professional Photographers Society (JPS).
