A New book “The Portrait of Ōno Yoshito” has been published.
A New book “The Portrait of Ōno Yoshito”, written by Inuhiko Yomota and edited by Dance Archive Network, has been published.
This book reveals the whole history of Yoshito Ohno as a butoh dancer by Inuhiko Yomota’s text with many precious photographs. The story covers from the butoh’s first performance “Forbidden Colours” in 1959 and the following period of experimentation with Tatsumi Hijikata & his father Kazuo, his retreat from stage and comeback, document on his Chinese tour in 2016 with which the author Yomota accompanied, to his masterpiece “Flower and Bird” which was premiered in Yokohama, Japan in 2013 and performed also in Italy, Brazil, Poland and China.
